BARBADOS Stock Exchange (BSE) General Manager, Marlon Yarde, has again called on Barbadians to invest some of their funds in worthwhile ventures. Yarde made his latest plea at the 10th Annual Personal Finance seminar held on Sunday evening at the Grand Salle of the Tom Adams Financial Centre. According to him, people should diversify their investments, meaning that rather than placing all of their funds in deposits at commercial banks they should look to invest also in shares, mutual funds or even some of the Government instruments which are open to the public. In addition, the BSE General manager suggested that people looking to invest should understand the relationship between risk and reward. He also argued that in their effort to set aside funds for investing the potential investor must at all times try to control his fixed, variable and discretionary expenses. read more
